The first site I looked at was the Colored Conventions Project which is a digital records site that holds a collection of primary sources of Black-led and organized conventions over the 19th century. I thought this site was very easy to use and is well maintained. The home page has an Advanced search feature that can be used to search for keywords and fields that would make it easier to research. The pictures of the records, when clicked on, lead to an easily accessible pdf copy and they have descriptions of what the records are about, with some even having a written out transcription of the information in the picture. Overall, I thought this was this was a really good site.
The second site I looked at was the Fredericksburg National Cemetery which I thought was also easy to use. It was well organized and had a fun to use, interactive map and I also liked the way the collections were organized as well. The only issue I had with the site was the plugin error pop-up message at the top of the site due to it being distracting but this doesn’t detract from the site itself.
